We're Not Normal Bob, We're Harmons: 2 Years Going on 12

We had some good friends and their adorable little baby over last night, and one of them asked Hadley if she is really 12. She replied with a quick "yep." It is crazy to see Hadley next to a newborn and see how much she has changed in just 2 short years.

Hadley really is becoming her own person. While it is frustrating at times (Yes, you do have to wear clothes. No, you shouldn't take your pants off when we have company) for the most part I love seeing her figure things out for herself. I love her little quirks and to see what she decides to do and when. Whenever she takes her shoes off she tucks her socks in each shoe (definitely not something she learned from us). LIttle things like that are so fun to watch.

Jonas brought home a massive bouncy slide and made Hadley's day. She played for a couple hours straight and was in heaven. She loves her daddy more each day and gets so excited when he gets home from work. If she is in the mood, they will have quite lengthy phone conversations during the day.

As you will see, Hadley is mildly obsessed with hats or really anything she can put on her head. If she sees anyone with a hoodie on, she thinks it is necessary they put on their "hat." When we have dance parties we all must have hats on. She will go track down hats for us if we need.

I definitely can't keep track of words anymore. Some of my favorites are peace out, gosh darnit (accompanied by snapping), ya buddy, you got it dude, and of course some others that aren't blog friendly (oops). She is really starting to put thoughts together to almost make sentences. She tells me what she wants and when she wants it.

We had our first bit of snow and Hadley just had to play until her hands were freezing.

Hadley still naps pretty good, but sometimes she just isn't quite ready to sleep when I put her down. So I will hear her play for a while and then when she is ready to sleep she will turn her night-night music on and take her nap.

Hadley loves putting on daddy's racing gloves, gloves to wash dishes, her little gloves when we are outside, you get the point. Hats and gloves required--clothes optional in our house. Well, for Hadley.

She is starting to outgrow a lot of her toys and wants to do big girl things. She loves, loves to paint, play with play-doh, color with markers, and she even got to help paint the wall the other day. We do lots of tea parties and read lots of books.

We got some lovesacs in our tv room and Hadley couldn't be happier. They are perfect for her to lounge on, jump on, and roll off of. But mostly they are perfect for watching Sesame Street. This past month Hadley discovered her love for juice (she had only had it diluted a few times before) and candy. We had to do a sugar detox after last week.

Hadley figured out how to do her thumbs up a while ago and it is one of her favorites now. We do thumbkin every night together before she goes to bed. She now can get out of her bed and room by herself, so it isn't unusual for me to get visits from her at 2, 3, 4 in the morning. She likes to just poke me in the face.
