If you love dogs - go see Marley and Me. If you absolutely LOVE dogs like us - read the book. We went and saw the movie with my parents on Saturday and we all cried...but the book is 10 times better. The author really puts the short lives of dogs into perspective. Even though they don't live long - and leave us heart broken when they leave - they are so loyal and always love us unconditionally. Jib doesn't care what car we drive, what job we have, or if we wear "cool" clothes - he just loves to hang out with us!!
So Larry and Jonas, sorry for calling you out but you did cry your little hearts out. Everyone give your puppy a little extra squeeze today because they do so much for us without expecting anything in return - except our love!
Oh, and because Marley reminded me so much of Harley, here are a few things about our special lab.
- When he was a puppy, he chewed a huge hole in our futon. He was pissed because we left him to go on vacation - he chewed it after we came back - just to prove his point.
- There happened to be a can of hair spray paint that we had from drill laying on the floor. Harley tried to eat this can. His teeth of course punched holes all over and sent pink spray paint all over him and our tv room. We had to paint over it because it wouldn't come off.
- Just recently, Larry bought Harley some new food. He loved it - except for the carrots and bananas. So he would carefully spit those out. And if you are trying to give him a pill and put it in with a roll or something to disguise it, he will eat the food and a few seconds spit out the pill.
- Again when he was a puppy he thought one of my moms huge plants in the backyard was tasty. He at the ENTIRE thing to the roots. It really was huge.
- He once got stuck behind the dryer.
- He never really liked any of my boyfriends. One in particular he jumped up on when he was tickling me. Awesome. (He loves Jonas)
- He will swim regardless of the water temp or air temp. And he loves his life jacket.
- If there is a dog toy anywhere - he will find it. And take it out of the bag its in. And then take it out of the package its in. And then gloat.
Anyways I could go on forever, but I love my Harley!! Mom, Sonia, Larry, if you have a fun memory I didn't put leave me a comment!

Oh my goodness We loved the movie too!! It reminded us of our wonderful Jax too. We need to have a play date for them, they would love eachohter. I cried so bad too!! Anyways dogs are great and make life so much fun.
Cody was laughing at me because I was sobbing at the movie...my entire body was shaking...and the worst part, it wasn't even at the part where you are supposed to cry. Dogs are great. I'll have to come up with a Kusaba list too. It's fun to think of all the crazy things they do.
the first and only time i've seen aaron cry was in that movie! your doggies are so cute. i love the picture with jib wearing the rain boots at the top of your blog... hilarious!
I have a lot of memories! One in particular, I was home alone at night, mom and Larry were out of town, sitting in the living room reading with Harley. The wind was blowing and the door to the garage flew open on its own, scaring the crap out of me, and my tough guard dog got up and ran as fast as he could into the bedroom to hide. Good thing no one was after me. Also when we lived with Sandy, when we would leave he would get on the couch and push all of the cushions onto the floor so he would be more comfortable.
I love my puppy too even though he is down syndrome! hahah and maybe i'd like jib if he didn't want to rip my through out! hope you're not frozen to death in logan. just for future reference cedar isn't any better its actually worse because the wind blows ALL THE TIME!
