Take Me Back

Since Jonas travels to San Diego frequently, my parents and I decided we would head out for a week too! It kind of happened to be bad timing with working on the house, but we all definitely needed a break. Hadley was so excited to go!!
Both girls did awesome on the flight. Hadley watched a movie and talked to the flight attendant every chance she could. She told us she needed to ask her something, so when she came by again Hadley said she needed more pretzels. Of course, they hooked her up. On the way off the plane Hadley hollered to the flight attendant, "Got any wings?" You can guess what happened next.
The weather wasn't super cooperative when we were there, but we still had a blast. Our condo was a close walk to the beach in Mission Bay, and it had a park right on the beach so it was perfect for Hadley.
Hadley was so obsessed with the beach. She loved playing in the sand and would find friends everywhere we went, only playing with me when she couldn't find anyone else. She joined a birthday party one day (who was nice enough to let us go for a spin on their paddle board), got a few girls who were laying out to play in the water and park, and she had a kid calling her Hadley Man all day which made me chuckle.
I thought Hadley would like to have one whole day with me since Remi could drink her bottles. We went to Aquatica (the Sea World water park). The weather once again didn't cooperate, but Hadley had a blast.
She was so proud of herself for swimming around the big pool by herself, and she did so for hours. She met some friends, of course, and just swam around after them making sure I stayed a safe distance behind.
We went to check out the USS Midway. Hadley was excited to see all of the planes, and I thought it was pretty awesome checking everything out. It seriously amazes me how many people are willing to do everything it takes to protect our country, and we have so many people here who don't appreciate it. Larry and Hadley are kindred spirits with their airplanes. She loves learning about anything and everything.
Remi is always just happy to be along for the ride. I am so glad we went to see the ship. I learned a lot, and it was quite the adventure going through the living quarters with Hadley, Remi, and the diaper bag by myself. I can't even imagine living on a ship like this.
Jonas was at the Olympic Training Center all week, so he would come and see us at night. Unfortunately, he was sick most of the week and didn't get to do much besides come crash on the couch. By the end of the week he was a little better, and we made the drive to the track to see him.
Being goofy with Hadley.
Finally it was Sea World time! We did Legoland last year, and the last time we went to Sea World Hadley was little and sick, so we thought we would try again. Her favorite part was this flying Elmo ride. She would just giggle and giggle.
The weather was actually perfect for us. It was cloudy but mostly warm. There were so many people in their huge winter jackets, and even one lady asked me how I was so warm. Ha! Come to Utah folks.
Hadley was so excited to see and touch a kangaroo. She said he was so soft.
Hadley wanted to feed the stingrays, even after I told her it was with raw fish. Of course, after I bought the fish she changed her mind, so me and Larry fed them. It was a little weird, and one mistook my finger for a fish. After this I convinced Larry to go on the roller coaster with me and even forced him in the front row. It was so much fun, and right when we got off Larry wanted to go again. Him and my mom went right back on to the front row.
My cute Remi just checking everything out. I didn't want to let her touch the foam blocks...germ nation.
We were trying to take off for the day, but getting Hadley to leave was a different story. She made her way up to the giant treehouse, so I had to climb after her to get her moving. She had found a nice worker up there and asked if she could just hang out with her.
Remi slept a total of 30 minutes tops all day (when she normally naps 3.5 hours a day), but she was awesome the whole time! She figured out how to talk and was rambling dada all around the park, and everyone we passed would comment and smile at her. Oh, these girls of mine.
We spent most of our last day on the beach. We decided to walk to the main beach so Hadley could play in the waves. Turns out by some freak weather, these tiny crabs invaded all of the beaches in Southern California. They were all over the place and Hadley wasn't feeling it, so we played for a bit in the sand and then went back to the bay.
 My little beach babes.
Remi loved her little toy and splashing around. I took her down to the sand which she was totally digging, but then she decided to smack herself in the face with both hands and we spent the next 10 minutes washing her in the shower :).
She was such an angel the whole entire trip. The only time she fussed was on the plane ride home for a few minutes because she had fallen asleep and Hadley woke her up.

Both girls fell asleep for a bit of the plane ride home, and then we hit some turbulence and had a very rough landing (literally, we hit the runway so hard it was crazy). Hadley keeps asking if we can live in San Diego, so I think it was a great trip!
