I can't believe this sassy little thing is 5! Hadley is such a smart girl. There are many moments throughout the day where she drives me completely crazy, and just as quick there are moments where she has me wrapped around her finger.
I love taking Hadley on new adventures and just watching her reaction. She finds friends wherever we go and is quite the social butterfly. But, just like her parents, she likes hanging at home sometimes too.
Hadley has adjusted to being a big sister pretty well. She plays a little too rough for my liking (and Remi's), but she loves Remi and is the first to cheer if Remi does something new. She gets jealous a little here and there and especially did when Jonas had his surgery and I was spending so much time taking care of Jonas and Remi and not Hadley (so she says). But for the most part she loves being independent. She dresses herself and does her own hair.
Hadley loves doing anything to make people laugh, and she is getting much more into dressing up and doing her hair and makeup. She loves arts and crafts, cars, planes, princesses, baking, and mostly running around with all of her neighborhood friends. Our new house has been so amazing for Hadley. She has a group of friends that live right on our street, and any chance they have they are out playing.
Hadley has done really well with dance this year. It was an adjustment going from a fun preschool class to 4 hours a week of competition team, but she is loving it now and LOVES to perform (can't imagine where that comes from...). Her favorite is ballet and tumbling, and her least favorite is hip hop, although now that she has a cute hip hop dance to perform she is liking it better. She is finally riding a big girl bike without training wheels and sometimes races at the track.
She is in her third and final year of preschool, and I think we are both super excited for when she can start kindergarten. She gets a little bored at preschool but still loves going and playing with friends. She knows all of her letters and a good chunk of her numbers. Her favorite thing to do is get a pen and paper and write the day away.
We didn't have anything big planned for Hadley's actual birthday because we just got back from Disneyland, but she did go pick out a bunch of donuts to take to the track.
That night we had a few friends/family over for cake and milkshakes (her choice, of course)!!
The next Tuesday I got to take some treats into her school, and they all sang a special song to her.
That night we had a few of the neighbor girls over for a tea party.
We did a few princess games, decorated purses, had tea and cookies, and ended the party doing "The Whip." Perfect princess tea party :).
One thing I always say about Hadley is I know she will be just fine in her life. She is sweet, compassionate, and a great friend, but she knows what she wants! Love my goobers so much!
